Wizard of Oz
Born in New York State in 1856, L. Frank Baum wrote the Wizard of Oz in 1899.
In a dream, Dorothy and her dog Toto, are carried by a tornado into the land of
Munchkin. There, on the yellh bow brick road, Dorothy meets Tin Man, Cowardly Lion,
Scarecrow, and the Wicked Witch, who covets Dorothy's ruby red slippers.  In the end,
Dorothy awakens in her own bed, safely back home again.
The Wizard of Oz movie was released by Walt Disney in 1939.
